Research Interests

I am focusing on host-parasite interactions, especially the Bombus/Crithidia system. This ranges from the cultivation of this intestinal parasite to its population structures within the bumblebee host in nature and the associated immune response after (artificial) infection.

  • 04/2008-09/2011: PhD student/research assistant at the Martin-Luther-University, Halle-Wittenberg. Dissertation Thesis concerned with "Disease resistance and immunity in the bumblebee Bombus terrestris" within the FUGABEE-Project (funded by BMBF)
